As a Virginia wedding photographer, I love the character of this wedding venue. It has posh modern amenities, but it’s also incredibly rich with history! It’s the perfect venue if you want a wedding that feels different and is uniquely yours.
Read on to discover all the must-know info for planning a wedding at the Wool Factory!

Your Guide to an Unforgettable Wedding at the Wool Factory: A Charlottesville Wedding Venue
The Wool Factory is an urban, industrial venue that is in a league of its own. What used to be an old 19th-century mill has since been fully refurbished. It has been upgraded to be a chic wedding venue with rustic elements of charm.
The original industrial aesthetic has been preserved to form the captivating backdrop for its showpiece event hall. Also, the location features architecture from many different eras, from Gothic Revival to design from the 1920s and 1930s.
You can plan either a small, intimate wedding or a large, grand celebration here. The venue can accommodate 300+ guests, and it has more than 6,000 square feet of space throughout—it’s a massive venue! Furthermore, this venue is less than two miles from Downtown Charlottesville.
One of the standout features of this venue is that there is in-house catering by Chef Tucker Yoder, who crafts menus using local ingredients for your big day. Oh, and did I mention there’s an on-site craft brewery, too? This venue has so much to offer you for an unforgettable celebration.

Here’s an overview of the different spaces you can choose for your wedding:
Broadcloth Restaurant
The Broadcloth Restaurant can seat up to 53 guests and has a cocktail space for up to 75 guests. It has a more moody and industrial vibe than some of the other spaces here, and the restaurant also has a private dining room!
The Workshop Loft
The Workshop Loft has beautiful exposed brick and high ceilings and seats up to 30 guests. Even though it can only accommodate up to 30 guests, this space still feels huge!
The Main Hall
The Main Hall is a massive space set in a one-of-a-kind industrial setting featuring exposed brick and concrete floors. You can fit up to 360 guests in this space! Furthermore, it has high ceilings and large windows that let in lots of natural light–it’s a gorgeous backdrop for your celebration.
The Ceremony Lawn
I can’t forget to mention the stunning ceremony lawn! This lawn has picturesque views of Moore’s Creek and the Historic Woolen Mills building.
They do a great job of taking care of the grounds here, and it can comfortably accommodate up to 250 seated guests. You can also have your ceremony outside on the lawn and then head back inside the factory for your reception.
The Entire Wool Factory
If you want the entire Wool Factory to yourself, you can have it! There’s an option to rent out the entire space, meaning you’ll have the flexibility to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces the venue has.
If you rent the entire Wool Factory, you can also add the Courtyard East to your day. The Courtyard East is a beautiful space decorated with string lights, and it’s warm, cozy, and intimate.

How much does a wedding at the Wool Factory cost?
I’m positive one of the questions that is on your mind is how much a wedding here costs. The answer is – it depends!
The venue has different pricing for specific spaces on Monday-Thursday versus planning your celebration here on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The starting price for this venue is $16,100, and couples typically spend $20,150 for this venue.

Jessica and Patrick’s Magical Wool Factory Wedding
If all of this has captured your attention, here’s a behind-the-lens look at Jessica and Patrick’s magical Wool Factory wedding!
One feature of the venue that I absolutely love (and still think about) is the industrial vibe. With so much open space, you can really turn this venue into whatever you can imagine or just let the natural aesthetic shine through!
Jessica and Patrick created a very laid-back atmosphere for everyone, which made the day go by so smoothly. Their day had the perfect wedding flow to it! There was zero pressure to perform, and it was a great space for everyone to be fully themselves, relax, and enjoy the day.
Jessica got ready in the upstairs loft area of the Wool Factory, and Patrick got ready at a bar nearby. While getting ready, Jessica and her mom practiced their dance in the getting ready loft to make sure they were prepared for their dancing debut that would happen later in the day.
In the bar, Patrick’s dad helped him get ready. Patrick also had special Lego cufflinks that were sooo cool – I hadn’t seen anything like that before and thought it was such a unique touch!
Once Patrick and Jessica were ready, they both met up and shared a heartfelt first look before their stunning ceremony in the Main Hall.
After their ceremony, at their reception, Jessica was the star of the show as they cut up the dance floor all night long! Before the end of their celebration, we pulled the couple outside for some nighttime flash portraits, which is something I love to do if the evening allows it!
